Didn't the Fins also stomp a mud hole in the Ruskies initially? They weren't prepared for fighting in inclement weather etc. The Fins were well trained in using their terrain etc to their advantage. Eventually though just by sheer numbers(and a shit load of arty) the Ruskies succeeded.
