My husband and I had a house fire a few years back, we lost everything, I am trying to replace his dress greens as well as his blue cord and metals. How do I go about doing that? He has no idea I'v been working on this. He enlisted in 1986 and spent for years with the military. Just looking for help. thanks

Rebecca, if you know what medals and uniform accessories he is entitled to wear, the quickest method is to purchase them at a Military Clothing Sales store on an Army installation. You can also order them online* through AAFES (you'll have to establish an account (https://www.shopmyexchange.com/register) which is verified against military records).
If you're looking for the exact type of uniform that he was wearing during his service, that's a bit more complicated. You'll be able to find 1980s "Enlisted Dress Green" uniforms for sale on eBay and military surplus stores.
If you don't know what medals he is authorized for wear (they will be listed on his DD214 if you have access to that), then you'll need to request his military records. You can do this online through the National Archives using eVetRecs*.
Finally, the Army will replace the medals at no cost* (once), but it will be a bit complicated if you're trying to keep it as a surprise from your husband (they'll do it for you if he's deceased or if you have his written authorization). You'll be able to do this by submitting a request to the Army's Human Resource Command* and/or doing an online request through eVetRecs.
