When I was assigned to B 2/20th FA, it was part of 42nd FA Brigade, Hanau, West Germany, at Francois Kaserne. I was stationed there May of 1988 - April of 1991. It was an 8" FA Battalion at that time. M110A2. Our mission during the Cold War to be ready to deploy and defend the Fulda Gap if needed.

I was in that unit during that same time period. Charlie battery I believe. We were the building closest to the chow hall across from the MLRS unit

I was originally 1/40 FA, then we be became
2/20 FA in '88.. I was in HQ battery from '87-'89...radio repair, had a hell of a time converting all the radios from the jeeps to the new our new Hummers
