Served 6 Years as 11B in the NG while attending law school, and currently working as a criminal prosecutor.

I want to join the Reserve as 31D but I don't have BLC (WLC) and police experience. I was offered a option of signing 31B contract w/ a CID unit, then submitting a 31D packet a year after but that seems risky.

Does anyone know any units in the Northeast that would offer me a 31D contract?

In order to become a CID agent in the reserves the applicant needs to interview to get into the unit as an applicant. Then the applicant needs to complete a CID packet which goes to CID command, which selects or rejected the applicants. If selected the applicant also needs to complete the security clearance background. After this is all completed the applicant completes the CID course in Fort Leonard Wood. Applicants can be rejected at any of these positions.

The best thing to do to get started in the process is to go to the unit as a 31B and work forward from there.

One of the basic requirements is 1 year MP or 2 years civilian police.
"At least one year of military police experience or two years civilian police experience (requirement for reserve soldiers only)"

We require a minimum of 2 years LE experience regardless of MP or Civilian. This requirement is non-waiverable. I'm available if you want to contact me at [login to see] and I can provide some specifics.

What would the career path be for a reserve Agent? I heard they don't really do investigation unless they get mobilized. I would like to know more about it because I have my interview coming up by the end of this month. Thanks in advance.

Cpl they will not offer a 31D contract. You will get offered just what you have been offered and they will work with you to get the packet approved to get accepted into the 31D program.
