It will definitly change. Whether good or bad we'll see. I do not belong with the school of thought that is bad simply because it's different or some traditions change. The traditions of today's Army are vastly different from the Army 100 years prior. The people and their thing are also as different. Change is inevitable.

We have a saying back home that goes something like this: "To Hell in a Handbasket"
I'm just kidding. The military is awesome. No matter how much Washington screws us over, cuts our budget, and kills our veterans, we will always be the elite fighting force in the world. Well, we will for a long time. Another democrat president may put us in a hole that'll be hard to recover from.

SSG (Join to see) Amen, Brother. If Buffalo Butt gets the nod, this country is in for a world of hurt, as she continues her Messiah's socialist plan for this nation.

This may seem off topic but hear me out... Who knows what's going on with schools in our nation? "Common Core"... This is something that KY adopted first (Obama's idea) and it means that every single child of a specific grade will learn the exact same thing the same day as somebody else in another state or school. It is socialism at its best. Dumbing down the next generation so they are all "the same." My kids are homeschooled as I was though many parents aren't able or don't know they are able. The government wants to control us and their going to do it with the next generation because my generation speaks it's mind and is diverse. Common Core is hurting kids all over who otherwise were A students they are struggling now. Yet it is being accepted because the deal was they would get rid of "no child left behind" if this was put in place.... FINALLY, I believe the military will be used down the road against civilians. They have already started training for civilian outbursts and such with military. Why would that be part of training? Weird right? This nation is too powerful and must be brought to its knees from within just as Rome and many other world super powers. I am a proud American, but this is truly what is happening so help us God.

I disagree with the military being used against civilians. I have had this conversation with some of my civilian friends. Here's my reasoning:
The Military is contrived of mostly the top 1% of patriotic folk in America. We love our country more than most, to love our country, we love the people and the freedom. Primarily, old patriots can be described as very conservative, God fearing, gun toting, born country, or turned country folk. In the past, they have been loyal to the government, but that has changed drastically under liberal rule. It began with Clinton but American Nationalism resurfaced with Bush thanks to Islamic extremism. Now we are a nation back in turmoil and distrust under another liberal. No surprise, but it has changed a core belief of patriots, we are no longer trustworthy of our government. When I was a young corporal, I would have followed orders with little question, but that was under Bush. Now, if I was ordered to take up arms against Americans, I am certain I would not be in military fatigues but in the colors of my countrymen. I am certain I would not be alone as I would foresee many of my Company follow.
I've said America is on he brink of civil war, just like you said, but it will not be the current Military, and if it is, it will only be a fraction of it led by foreign UN troops. I hope it doesn't come to that. But I keep my military weapon as clean and functional as I keep my 2nd Amendment weapons.

I like SSG Murdock saying from back home. I always said if it's not broke don't try and fix it. We spend more money helping other countries then our own or taking care of our military and veterans. We don't need to fix the military we need to fix the government. Right now we are supposed to be the number one military country in the world but with all these changes and cut backs. Our leaders in the military ( officers and good NCO's ) leaving and retiring we will have to find away to train the new soldiers, airmen, sailors, and marines to handle the missions that come up. Right now we are strength to thin with allot of missions needing to be filled as well as keeping and eye and a ready force to react to North Korea and Iran.
