LTC Thomas Tennant - I'll see if I can find the article talking about it. Many of the gun videos have been moved to Porn channels. Nobody there will object to the subject matter. True story!

I was banned from a Facebook group once for asking questions that ran counter to their belief. They didn't violate my 1A rights. Ironically they were shutdown by Facebook months later and when their replacement page commented about how Facebook was violating their rights I reminded them that they had banned me, so any high ground they may have held regarding the 1A was gone. You tube is no different. Content creators are given freedom to regulate their content and YouTube is just a very big content creator that hosts other content creators while letting them borrow or make money off of their platform. If at any point they decide to remove videos it is their right to do so particularly when users can monetize their videos using You Tube's proprietary technology.

You make some good points. But think on this, when you are the major platform for content like YouTube and you start suppressing content like Gun Channels while allowing other more deplorable content, you have crossed the line into censorship. While there are new venues being developed, which I am current researching and supporting, this is no different than the Hurst newspapers strangling alternative points of view. Yes the Hurst corporation was responsible for its content but they found it a fine line between content control and censorship. A lesson from history.

LTC Thomas Tennant - I don't think I disagree with you on how I personally feel about it, I personally think all content should be viewable. However as a private company I have to respect their right to control how they represent their own brand.

SPC David Willis - Yes they have the right to control content. But just because you can do something, it is not always wise to do it...or that it is right to do. I find their position highly hypocritical and at odds with their so called mission statement and values. YouTube based its existence and growth on diversity and the content that its contributors generated over the years. They originally stated they were "Providing a forum for everyone's voice."
Their only restrictions were on sexual content in general and frankly Add to YouPorn, YouPorn and other like sites filled that void. However, like Facebook, Twiter and other "social content" providers, it appears they are stepping away from that original & noble vision and become increasingly liberal and intolerant. It has started attacking conservative content and 2nd Amendment advocacy in particular. This is simply pure suppression of ideas and ideals.
Something I am sad to see because it is only in the healthy "arena of ideas" will we ever see true growth and progress....first as individuals, then as a society and Nation, and ultimately as a species. So, I now participate here at Rally Point and am looking for other healthy social networks.
