Of all the nonprofits to place under the microscope, this one would be near the bottom of the list. Nothing that I can think of is based on pure altruism. If this group meets the IRS requirements for this status, STFU. Go for the fat cats running biased political groups, religious or otherwise. My appreciation for honoring our passed veterans, each year in this way. Of course this is JMHO.

I'm not sure one way or the other with regard to the business Worcester Wreath and its relationship with Wreaths Across America, but the ceremony itself was longer than some changes of command I've endured. I mean they kept talking and talking and talking and talking to the point where I was really thinking, "I just came here to lay some wreaths." I honestly thought that there was a need for volunteers to put the wreaths on the graves. The registration site said that the cemetery in my area had 103 volunteers and 10,500 graves to provide with wreaths. So, I assumed that this would be a multi-hour thing of taking wreaths from vehicles and placing them. But actually, there were 42 bazillion people at the event (which was good - I'm very impressed with that) so the speeches took three times longer than it took to actually place all the wreaths and someone had done a substantial amount of work prepositioning the wreaths in each section. A few years ago, I might have volunteered early in the year to pick up the wreaths after the holidays but received no reminder email as we approached that pick-up date; then after the pick-up date passed I got a very, very hostile email from some person with poor anger management skills berating me for not showing up for cleaning the cemetery. Honestly, that didn't score too many points in the whole "civil engagement" sphere from my perspective. But I was very glad to see so many people from my metro area show up at the ceremony yesterday, even if it was a bit long-winded.
