It is sad when we see a fellow veteran involved in something so terrible. Everett Glen Miller was a retired Master Gunnery Sergeant with over 22 years of service. My sympathies are with the families of both officers and with Miller's mother. I saw her on the news and she begged people to take away his guns. She must hurting along with so many others.

A failure in our healthcare and mental health systems is ultimately responsible. People who knew Everett Glenn Miller could see the onset of mental illness and it appears that he had already been hospitalized.
Being a former LEO, my sympathies are on the side of my brothers in blue..My deepest condolences to the families and friends of the two Florida Officers killed.
that being said, it seems that our healthcare system should be equipped to handle mental health issues and prevent these tragedies.
