Welfare Reform
So this is an issue that I have seen as (one of) the unpaid entitlement programs that vastly needs a reform. I understand that the program is there to help give a step up and to assist people in getting back on their feet, but there are those that abuse them. I was reading through my news sources and I ran across this article:
Which speaks about how "Family Caps" on welfare just continue to hurt the poor. After reading this article the only thing I could think to myself was that the author of the article is trying to determine that people without personal responsibility should still be allowed to have as many children as they want and still be supported. This is not a position that I personally agree with. I have also seen this on the opposite side:
http://www.viralviralvideos.com/2011/12/02/woman-with-15-children-says-someone-has-to-pay-for-all-these-kids/Which shows the issues with these programs and the mentality it builds. This shows the other extreme in which people are not responsibile for their actions and expect others to fix their problems and bad decisions.
What is your take on Welfare and programs like it and what are some ideas we may implement to improve this programs to assist those that need them and to eliminate waste and abuse?
