Girls beat another teenage girl to death in a school restroom, apparently out of jealousy over a boy. Bullying is wrong.

Almost a year ago Amy Inita Joyner-Francis, age 16, was attacked by bullies at Howard High School in Wilmington Delawere and 30 minutes after the fight she died from the injuries at A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children. And why were the girls fighting? Over a boy!
A student that witnessed the fight said that while Amy was fighting with one girl, other girls jumped her from behind and one of them smashed her head against the bathroom sink. It was a brutal and scary sight.
This horrible incident took place before classes, 8:15AM. How many times have you heard about students killing other student in schools? How many of them knew about the fight before it happened and did nothing to stop it?
The police is still looking for more evidence and so far no official statement has been released. Wilmington`s Mayor, Dennis Williams said that he was heartbroken and added that tragedies like this should be avoided at all costs.
It`s obvious that the anti-bullying campaign that this school is running isn’t working and students don`t listen to the voice of reason. Maybe after this tragic event they will pay more attention.
At the official hearing, Detective Tom Curley was lost for words and urge parents and teachers to teach their children well.

While I don't disagree that this is a "horrible incident", I don't see any evidence in the article that it was bullying. A fight over a boy, at least on the surface of it, isn't "bullying" ... it is a clash over a specific issue. In this case it ended up being a "join in and pile on". I had a few fights during my growing up years - weren't bullying, just a bit of jousting over a perceived wrong, either done by me or to me.
