On May 6, 1992, Marlene Dietrich, German American actress and singer (The Blue Angel, Shanghai Express), died in Paris at the age of 90. Legend has it that the piano player deliberately made mistakes to gauge her reaction. She switched from angry to sweet at the drop of a hat. She yells at the piano player asking if he knows how to play. Then she yells at him asking how she is supposed to sing to that sh*t. When the other girls doing the screen test were singing and the piano player
messed up, many of the girls began to cry. Dietrich got the part in The Blue Angel naturally.
