Once a controversial proposal that faced opposition from both those who served in Vietnam and those who opposed the war in Vietnam, the Vietnam Memorial Wall has become a popular attraction and a place of healing. Few other memorials have ever been honored with traveling replicas that have circulated around our nation so that all can experience it. One has found a permanent home at H.E.A.R.T.S. Veterans Museum in Huntsville, TX where the Melvin White VFW Post 5871 regularly meets and many of its members serve as docents.
