ok - this is wrong, if they are not charged with anything, then there is no legal ground to expel a former servicemember - and if it was me, I would challenge this. You can disagree with what they did, you can feel revulsion at what they did, but no, no matter what, they still have civil rights, they served, they are veterans, then they should not be expelled. I will oppose witch hunting.

SSG Robert Perrotto - So just exactly how comfortable are you with how many laws someone can break before they are charged? Because I'm not certain that all of the individuals who participated in the heinous murder of a law enforcement officer will be apprehended and/or charged with a capital crime... And I'm pretty sure they won't be coming forward to turn themselves in. I'm asking for the dead cop's family.

CMSgt Al Nall - and just exactly how far would you bend due process to exact revenge for people who were just there. those damn doors were opened to the mob, they did not breach the doors, they did not break down the doors - security opened them and then stood aside - they invited the mob in. When you open doors and step aside, you are telling them, welcome, come in. Mobs are stupid. This is like saying every BLM protestor who threw something at police officers nation wide should be socially eliminated. - so , should we? asking for the 30+ officers killed, and hundreds seriously injured officers families.
We do not get to pick and choose what political violence is justified in order to force change on a constitutionally elected Government, we do not get to pick and choose just the executive branch for laws and regulations written and passed by congress accountable. This is how and why we got into this mess in the first place.

SSG Robert Perrotto - I think we were watching different events. In many cases I saw a lawless mob forcing its way in to the Capitol as it beat officers with bats, crutches, hockey sticks and stolen police shields. If people were in the building, they are complicit. Your last paragraph makes no sense to me whatsoever. We actually do get to pick and choose our representation. They're called elections.

CMSgt Al Nall - And I saw that the doors were opened, security step aside, and let them in.
And I also saw, throughout the summer, as M cocktails, fireworks, rocks, clubs being used
against Law enforcement officers all throughout our cities.
Picking and choosing our representatives is not the same as picking and choosing what political violence is acceptable. Nor should we be focusing on the one branch over the one who actually writes, and passes the laws of the country. The ONLY reason this is a great outrage is because the people who have held power for decades were actually threatened, all the other actions of the past summer did not effect them, what do they care if a courthouse in Oregon got firebombed, or that officers tasked with protecting the facility were injured, They could use it in their rhetoric against their opponent. What did they care about officers lives, when they stood in solidarity to disband, defund, and demonized all police officers, but now "what about the officer who lost his life".
I am against all violence as a means of political change, whether its Antifa, BLM, Proud Boy's, KKK, Trumpers, anarchists, communists. Every one of those elected officials have fueled, fed, and encouraged the violence - none of their hands are clean.
And mark these words - if, 4 years from now, Biden loses his re election bid to the conservatives, this shit will start up again, provided we don't kill ourselves first.
What I hope to start seeing from our politicians is active attempts to de escalate this, active and meaningful across the board condemnation of all the political violence. Instead, we had Nancy Pelosi on tik tok issue a statement that protestors have chosen "whiteness" over democracy, we have had Politicians call for other elected brethren to resign, or called them Nazi's - none of them have learned from this, there is blood in the water, and they will not be satisfied until they have had their fill.

@SSG Robert Mark Odom - Brother, Excellent post here... I say that because it truly “breaches” the sanctity of the First Amendment Rights.
On one hand, yes you can. You can and have the right to do what you want and say what you want after being out of the military. On the other hand, as stated, the Organizations have rules and said set stands, morals and values and can do with which they choose.
We as a country just need to realize that things have occurred here which haven’t happened for a couple of millennium. And as such, the way things are interpreted or can be might just be different as well. Different times, different languages, different court systems, and although English, not always interpreted the exact same! Just saying, be mindful of that which you do these days...
