If you've never read this true WW2 story, you all should, esp the part in a pharmacist mate, Maurice L Demers, who was decorated, I think, and eventually promoted to warrant officer, this is the true River Kwai story, not the frictional version in the film, which, however good cinematographically, was utter nonsense....

Enjoy...I just have rather a thing for excoriating Hollywood film nonsensical.drivel in place of the real.thing, however cinematographically brilliant it might seem to the uninitiated and ill-informed....
