USS Oscar Austin docks in Boston for July 4, offering free tours

The USS Oscar Austin, a Navy destroyer, has docked in South Boston for the Fourth of July, offering free tours to the public. The visit is part of 2024's Boston Harborfest, billed as one of the country’s largest Fourth of July festivals.

The vessel, which entered service in 1998, is named for Medal of Honor and Purple Heart recipient Private First Class Oscar P. Austin. Tours of the destroyer are being offered.
