There are still a couple. I was Radcon on Shenandoah, AD44. They did shut down all the ADs though...
PO1 William "Chip" Nagel Yep, we have 2 of them. The other is the USS Emory S. Land (AS 39). Both are stationed in Guam. They are hybrid Civ/Mil crews. While their main function is sub tenders, they provide mobile shipyard functions to all types of ships. When I was in Yokosuka, they would pull in every now and then when there was a high workload on the the shipyard.

SCPO (Join to see) I Remember Tying Up Outboard of USS Proteus during Desert Storm while She Serviced USS Arkansas CGN-41. They Do Good, Fast Work. I was Disappointed to use USS Proteus as My Living Barge during the 95-96 Rebuild of Arkansas.
