Dr. Mona posted photos yesterday to update friends about a medical delegation that was received at a hospital in the north of Gaza, to access conditions - a U.S. based worldwide aid & Development 501(C)(3) (non-profit, non-religious & non-governmental)
They actually started doing orthopedic surgery as soon as they arrived. Can't keep good doctors down, apparently. They don't want to be relegated to executives desk jobs either - plus there was a pressing need. She was a former Vice President of the Red Crescent Society for Gaza Strip. I have to smile when I see her reference to Gaza Strip which few people say, these days. That's how it used to be referred to when it was part of Egypt. Her family has deep roots in the Gaza Strip.
