Thousands of Americans were left in Korea either missing in action or as prisoners after the war ended. The United States and North Korea have engaged before in sustained diplomacy to bring back remains, but the process has often been fraught with practical difficulties and mistrust. Why is there mistrust and or any difficulties? Are the Koreans afraid they will loose face if its discovered that there are literally thousands of remains in Korea along with repatriated soldiers who stayed on after hostilities ceased. Why so much drama? If you have the dog tags turn them over so we can account for lost lives, loves and move on with our lives here. Am I missing some general rule of diplomacy? Will there be shrieking in the streets? Will anyone protest the fact that personnel with technical skills were held indefinitely to teach those skills to the enemy, ie pilot skills especially.
