PFC (Join to see) - In the 366th SPS, Da Nang in 1968, only our K9 troops used the M4 like version of the M16 which was a little easier for them as the had a dog on a leash with the other hand. We had 45 dogs, all of them German Shepard breed.

Same here SSgt Will Philips with the exception of the M14, which I've never fired or carried. I did carry the M16 or a daily basis and used it plenty. I have carried and fired the M1 Garand but only as a Cadet in a Military Academy with an Army program way before I had even entered the Armed Forces. Like the M16 I could assemble and reassemble the M1 in record time. I did remember the M1 and even in the service showed other how it operated and the in another uses the M1 is what I had first learned My manual of arms on. later in the service I had used both the M1 and M2 Carbines as well on a stateside base before going to Vietnam. (M1 carbine is semi auto only, M2 can fire full automatic)

Thank you for the video, made me really miss working with the weapons I had in the vault at the Armory.
