I live in Canada most of the time so I follow the local news and this double standard sounds familiar.
It's not just in the US, Admiral Norman of the Canadian Navy was presumed Guilty by prime minister Trudeau and he was not entitled to free defense counsel like average Canadian civil servant would have been entitled to because the Prime Minister thought he was guilty. Luckily, the request from Council on secret emails and Communications concerning his defense and what he was accused about and his supposed breach of trust what's dropped by the government because had it been revealed, it would have been placated prime minister Trudeau and one more Scandal on top of the other scandals that I've been rocking Parliament Hill since the beginning of the year.

This story was published before they dropped or stayed the charges as they saying Canadian legal system. It is very possible that this Scandal along with the others will cost prime minister Trudeau his reelection in October.
