LTC Stephen F. He served His Purpose, Now He is Dead Weight actually with the Investigations Pilling Up Against Trump this won't Matter. More Symbolic in Some Way but it will just Make Trump Look More Guilty.

Comey didn't do his job. He let Hillary and Abeden off the hook and didn't follow his mission to prosecute the parties that unmasked the data associated with the NSAs surveillance on Trump during the campaign. Gentleman theses are grievous felonies. Rule of law no one is above this. Their is not a shred of evidence of Trump colluding with the Russians.

MAJ(P) (Join to see) - If that was his intent, then why did he just tell Lester Holt otherwise, He admitted fingering Comey to kill the Russian investigation,. the other stuff was just lies his clown posse made up to try explain what he did.

SGTYou are not very good at listening and or you have an agenda. I watched the interview, you are making things up. The "investigation" will continue regardless of Comey.

I am a Retired USAF MSgt. I never have been a teacher, and her attempts to get the government to give money to religious schools definitely shows that she is a theocratic. And those s schools specialize in indoctriantion, indoctrination is in fact their primary purpose.

He probably fired him more for his investigation over the Trump campaigns' ties with Russia than over the email scandal LTC Stephen F.

Trump was damned regardless of what he did. All of his enemies will use every little bit to try and take him down. What he did do was send a warning shot that if you are in the administration, if you have broken the law, I will fire you.

LT Brad McInnis - I think the timing makes the President look guilty. Yes, there were much better times. If he knew what he says he knows - that was all known when the President took office. Now that he's waited this long, but doesn't wait until the conclusion of the Russian investigation, he's made it look like he's trying to keep the FBI off the Russia investigation.

So, what if tomorrow he appoints a Special Prosecutor for the Russia Investigation? My only point is that there will never be a perfect time. His enemies on both sides will always have something to throw on the wall to see if it sticks. Why is the Russian investigation into meddling only now a problem? They have meddled into elections since they became a country. Why is there not a PEEP on the number of elections that Obama and the Democrats have meddled in? What about the fact that every major power tries to meddle?

LT Brad McInnis - I think if he did that, and let the SP do his job without Executive influence, that would be a step in the right direction. I would fully support that.
I'm not sure how you can say that the "Russian investigation is only now a problem." It's been a very big sore in the side of the administration since before the inauguration and hasn't left the news cycle - except when we bombed Syria and saber rattled with North Korea. It's ALWAYS been an issue.
Why is there not a PEEP on the elections that Obama meddled in? Because Obama isn't a sitting President who may have been compromised by Russian ties. However, do you see a difference between meddling in other elections and in having an election meddled in to elect someone specific in our country? Take another scenario - if Iran launched 60 ship-based missiles at US air bases on the east coast, would we call that an act of war? Of course we would. How is it not an act of war when we do it to other nations? Because we're the USA and have the biggest stick - therefore, we make the rules.
Now, is the United States a supremely hypocritical nation because we meddle in other elections, but are "outraged" when they meddle in ours? Of course we are! I think the problem here is that is seems so obvious that Russia meddled, wanted to get a specific person elected, may have succeeded, and that person now appears to be trying to squash any investigation into his ties with Russia.

I follow and understand your argument. My only point is that I doubt there would be any heated rhetoric from the Democrats if the Russians had picked Hillary instead. And absolutely I think it is hypocritical to be all upset about meddling, but nothing when a sitting President meddles in others (http://www.ccu.edu/centennial/2017/04/meddles-foreign-elections-russia-usa/). You can't go around smacking others with a stick, and then get upset when they hit you back with a stick.
I sincerely hope he appoints a SP that starts over and digs all the dirt out, regardless of who it implicates. I really hope that this firing is the first step in that chain... I can't remember how many times in the past year that both sides have switched sides on Comey.. we love him, we hate him, we love him, we hate him, ad nauseum.... Because I guarantee that if Comey ran an investigation that found nothing, then there would be outrage on the left.
