Not that I support this reasoning - I don't - but wouldn't it be logical that if a migrant family traverses thousands of miles on their journey, that they would bring items like a toothbrush unless that wasn't important to them?
Clearly the idea being put forward here is to get the word out that life in detention is uncomfortable, hoping that deters some. But having this actually be a policy argued for in court? I can't support that at all.

MCPO Roger Collins Nice try at defending your fuhrer when children are dying due to his zero tolerance policy. In 2014 due to unexpected influx of unaccompanied minors Obama's admin TEMPORARILY placed them in those facilities until they could be reunited with their parents. Hey even your boy Shep Smith at Fox news called Trump a liar for comparing his Hitler like immigration policy to Obama's

SSgt Ray Stone one thing you said has to be set straight. Children are dying because their parents or some other adult decided that the dangers of walking 2000 miles outweighed the dangers of staying home. No one else is responsible for their bad choices.

Why don't we put the blame where it belongs. It's the parents fault for bringing them here illegally and putting them in this situation. No one went to their country and forced them to come here. It's not Obama's fault and it's not Trump's fault.

SSgt Ray Stone - If your trying to compare Trump to "the Führer", then I assume that you agree with AOC's comment that the detention centers on the southern border are being run like concentration camps during the Holocaust, correct?

SSgt Ray Stone Be careful what you say about your boss. Commission Officers that some specific UCMJ issues if they publicly say something like that. Do you travel or PCS without a toothbrush? I take mine.

We can not deny that this is a very sad situation, but it doesn't seem like most people are putting the blame where it truly belongs. Trump is not to blame, Border Patrol is not to blame, ICE is not to blame, Homeland Security is not to blame......it's the parents of these children who brought them here illegally, putting them at risk, who put them in this sad situation. These parents knew that they were breaking our law coming to the country the way they did. Blame the parents first, that's where the blame belongs.
