That sums up what I tell people. I wish I'd had this the other day trying to explain it to some people. I think they'd understand a picture better. Fewer words.

Definitely a true picture that pretty well sums it up.

The 1A is not a free for all on speech. All any amendment does is protect us from the government.

Yes you can say whatever you want but there's always consequences to that speech. There's limits. Such as laws against libel, slander, defamation, incendiary speech.

So FB and Twitter blocking him is no different than anyone else who violated their TOS. Except it took 5 years longer for him than anyone else.

I recall reading someone made a page and all they did was copy Trump's posts. Literally copy and past. They were repeatedly blocked. So why wasn't he?

I don't like FB giving me 30 day bans for far less but it technically violated their TOS. So I suck it up. I use other platforms during that time. I'd just leave for good but there are a couple groups that are helpful in information for my daughter (other parents with kids with kidney issues) or amon group. And that's the only way I see what's going on with family bring do far away.

Trump did nothing but throw tantrums and stoke violence and fear for 5 years. Disagree all you want but it's true.

If he wants to make a new platform that's his right. But he's not a victim and he brought it on himself. As did his cronies.

You’re absolutely right. First amendment is nit an absolute right. There are conditions that remember we must play well with others generally speaking .

social media platforms are the town square, we are ceding our voice to the whims of corporate fancies. what is today speech that can be blocked by a mere ToS, that can be revised without warning or notice. You are giving power over your voice to an unregulated and completely fickle entity. once you provide an open platform for all public users to utilize for communication, private entity no longer applies, we do not pay for the service, it is open and free for all users, unless some suit decides they do not like what you are saying - the implications of this are profound, because they can silence anyone, for any reason.

By stripping him of social media platforms, they are making a Martyr of him. This will not end well, and further reinforce that left wing media is out to crush conservatives. Silencing someone does not mean you are in the right, it just means you fear what is being said.

SSG Robert Perrotto - "They All swore an oath to the king," No, not all.
Yes, they would have hung, had they lost. IMO, that is not relevant today.

Those people the stormed the Capitol building (and some here) claim to be patriots. That is a lie if they advocate the violent overthrow of the federal government. A patriot owes their loyalty to the Constitution, not an individual or political party.

It is extremely sad to see the number of people here that do not see the danger to our Republic we are facing right now. We are close to the collapse of this Union.

MSG Stan Hutchison - so , when a mob of people show up at the place you are dining with your wife and children, and start shouting at you and them, calling you and your family racists, nazi's, fascists - its not a form of terrorism? Some of these "protestors" have showed up at peoples homes.

MSG Stan Hutchison - if they owned land, then they swore an oath to the King, as only the crown, or a crowns representative, could bestow title to land.

MSG Stan Hutchison - Oh - I absolutely saw this, I spoke out against it, numerous times, in a multitude of threads. for the last 20 some odd months I have spoken against the mob, spoken against dehumanizing people you disagree with, told people to actually research claims made by the media, both social and legacy - no one listened then, and now you want me to rally and decry what happened this week? nope, if it falls, its because people are sheep and allow themselves to be manipulated. I will not lift a finger to aid, prevent, or comfort anyone who has contributed to this nonsense, left wing - right wing - conservative, liberal, progressive. I have popcorn, adult beverages, and weiners to roast on the flames as everything burns. Only going to get worse as big tech and social media giants are starting to purge their platforms of people who disagree. Next it will be jobs. We are either free, or we are not.
