Trauma nurse shares experience working in Gaza

Trauma nursing and trauma anesthesia were never numero uno on my list. Regardless, trauma presented itself often enough.

I would not have the type of strength required to do that work. Grateful for those who do have.
I wonder about Palestinian friend, Mona, a physician/pediatrician, who has a lovely home in the south of Gaza near the sea. She has not said much. I always loved that when she was in ABQ years ago, she graciously extended the compliment to me that the Musa'ka I brought to the potluck was exactly the way they make it in Gaza. (It was exceptionally good - full credit to the excellent detailed instructions I followed, word for word, in the recipe book - was asked to distributed the recipe). I am very concerned about her well-being. A few weeks back she did mention relatives who had been victims.<sigh>

As a former ER Medic it is quite stressful. we remember the some we lose, and not the many we save.
