As I wrote my first novel about Castro's revolution I collected a lot of research materials on the history of Cuba from Pre-Columbian times to the present day. When my publisher suggested that I create a personal website to promote my book, I published all that material as my first blog posts. Unfortunately, if you have any interest in reading it all, you have to read it in reverse inasmuch as the postings are presented with the last posted appearing at the top of the list. One of the most fascinating things I discovered was the fact that both Cubans and Americans had great interest in making Cuba a part of America. However, the two parties didn't share that interest at the same time...

Never understood why Cuba never became a territory like Puerto Rico and Guam. It would probably have become a state and there would have been no Batista who then brought us Castro.
