I remember the Persian Gulf well. I arrived there in 1979 1 month before the Hostages were taken and I spent the entire year there with Command Mid Est force USS LaSalle AGF-3. then returned right after I left on another ship. then 1 1/2 ears later returned for a 3rd time getting out of the Navy in Bahrain and shipping back to Philly for out processing.
