Shoot, don't shoot? Mader was, initially, correct, de-escalate the situation, keep the guy talking. But here's the thing, Williams made the hostile move, he raised his weapon. Should the officer wait til he was fired on, maybe take one in the chest? Maybe Williams would fire stray, just so the officers would engage, and that stray round hit an innocent bystander, maybe a child. A life was lost, and that is tragic, but Williams made the call, he put the officers in a position where they have to act for the safety of community, and their own safety. The article leads one the think his performance up to that incident had lacking. Maybe Police work aint for him.
