This columnist doesn't know Louisville.
Seriously.
Talk to anyone stationed at Knox (1/2 hour south of Louisville) in the last decade, you will get FAR better info.
First, a MUST do for families is the Kentucky Science Center. Also, while she mentions the Louisville Slugger museum as a photo op, she ignores it as an actual destination. And also doesn't even mention the major theme park - Kentucky Kingdom - right there in the city.
And there are 17 ways to say Louisville. (Yes, 17.). Most native pronounce is with only two syllables. The closest phonetic spelling I could give you is Luh-vuhl.
Finally, before you go, do your research. About 80% of the city is not fit for humans. There are a lot of bad areas, including some where the color of your skin most definitely matters.

What if they don't want to go to the museum... What if they want to go to a bar and find an underground bird fight?

Cpl Benjamin Long I would seriously question someone bringing a family to an underground bird fight.
