Yeah, I was kind of taken aback when I'd read the story, you might care to look at various YouTube videos about the whole topic,mthey depict a side of Lincoln few serious students of history Eger really delve into, I've gathered, I've wondered as I've read the story, what must've been going through his mind as it was all going on, you know? What is sad is that it is ignored even to this day , we keep saying that Las Vegas was worst mass murder of civilians, Wounded Knee was 50 times worse. and it was just as much the cold blooded murder of innocent people.

I understand, I was kinda floored by it, I found it showed a side of Lincoln, even though hemobv did what he could to minimize it, that few students of history esp of the Civil War, ever really take a look at, you know? Interestingly, that famous Ken Burns film series on the Civil War, fantastically good as it was, never even mentioned it once, which I really found odd; there's some other stuff about it I'll also try to send in, look at the various YouTube videos on it, some of them, two I'd found in particular, were really quite good, I'll try to send them later.
