SGT John " Mac " McConnell it is sad that we had to kill Yamamoto. He did not hold with the idea of attacking the United States. He knew that Japan was not going to be able to sustain the push against the Americans. He knew this BEFORE the attack on Pearl Harbor. He was a smart man with a real grasp of the Japanese situation. Had the Japanese high command heeded his advice, World War II may have been an entirely different war.
