The smug bigotry of Trump-haters

Contempt is the very foundation of Leftism/Progressivism. It is contempt for individuals who cannot, should not be trusted with liberty. Only Leftist/Progressive leaders should be allowed to make decisions. If all are to share equally in the fruits of production, you need their supreme intellect to make the divisions. And as to what to believe, only leftist/progressive journalists can be trusted to decide that. So, sit down and shut up Mr and Mrs Flyover America, and wait for instructions from your betters.

Calling him everything from a closet Muslim to not being born in the US to being an illegitimate president to the founder of ISIS AND ALL of those things were not only used to get the current crop of GOP politicians elected but were echoed by Trump himself.
IMHO, it's not about people hating Trump or this "smugness," as more of his supporters are slowly and reluctantly seeing that they got conned. It's the ridiculously short memories these same people that called Obama everything but a child of God have and now claim that Trump is a "victim" of some media bias. Where were all of you 8 years ago? Where was this kumbayya, support your president, politics up to the waters' edge sentiment THEN? These people don't get to whine about how "their" president gets treated when they wouldn't stand by the former one in any standard NOR get to complain about what they're getting back after gleefully doling out 8 years of vitriol, mistrust and out-and-out lies.
