The Secret Mission that Disappeared - Super Constellation Flight 739

Before departing for Vietnam with other 92 Army Rangers and Special Forces troopers, Sergeant First Class Raymond Bill Myers left his dog tags, identifications, and gold ring to his wife and family. He had a bad feeling about his next mission.

As the war in Vietnam was escalating and the United States was getting more involved, Myers and the other soldiers were part of a group of military advisors that were to train the South Vietnamese Army amidst their ongoing fight against the Vietcong.

The men boarded a military-chartered Flying Tiger Airline Lockheed Super Constellation aircraft at Travis Air Force Base in California on March 14, 1962.

The aircraft would make four stops for refueling before dropping the men in Vietnam, but as it headed for the Philippines, it suddenly disappeared and was never seen again.
