The Problem With ‘Let Marines Be Marines’

If you want a life of comfort, hot coffee, safe spaces, sexual harassment training, on line courses, comfy rear area barracks etc. there are plenty of other places in the military for you.

It is all fun and games until the shit hits the fan somewhere and we need hard men to slay bad guys in very spartan conditions. All of the sexual harassment and gender dysphoria training, proper internet use courses and many others will not save your life or help you win a battle.

Marines were being Marines at places like Chapultepec, Tripoli, Harpers Ferry, Belleau Wood, Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima, The Chosin Reservoir, Khe Sanh, Hue City and a thousand other places no one wants to go and engaging enemies no one wants to fight in condition no one wants to live in.

Now in the age of comfort and unparalleled freedom the pickers want to pick. They are okay until someone takes away their Starbucks, cable TV, internet access or mobile device, then they will want the hardest bastards on the face of the planet to go fight for them to get their comforts back.

Sec William Bennett, who has a Marine son, use to repeat this situation during his daily radio show. When you are in trouble and you see men with guns running towards you, pray they are Marines.

Sadly so few citizens are Marines or are close to a Marine. Movies, advertising and Toys-for-Tots are main so imaging people have of the Marines. Few actually spend time with a Marine and learn who they are, what they do, and how they do it. Afraid the distance between reality and fiction is getting larger.

I think the ideal solution would have all female units with female officers. They don't go to boot camp with the men. They have female DI,s Whenever you have men and women together for long periods of time, mother nature takes over. Their is going to be Hanky Panky going on. Ive seen it in the work Place as a civilian. I wonder how wives of marines think about Husbands serving in Units together with women? Let women be in their own combat units. Call them "Wonder Women" or "Amazons" That way they can be Macho. Not everything has a Politically correct solution. Let Marines be Marines but Keep them separated from the Wm,s.. Semper Fi.
