I guess we didn't lose enough equipment in Afganistan we now have to deplete our military equipment even more.

Seems counterproductive to me. Guess the scrap the A-10 mentality of the Air Force has migrated to the Navy.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen I'm not sure the heads of our services are thinking clearly. If the folks running the Ait Force don't want yhe A-10's why not give the A-10's, the weaponry, spares, ground crews and pilots to the Army? Maybe the Army would appreciate them, unlike those that make the decisions in the Air Force. Just my $00.02!

MAJ Dale E. Wilson, Ph.D.
Maj Robert Thornton Simple answer is the Air Force is protecting its turf. The closest they came to surrendering the ground support mission was to allow the army to increase the size and quality of its attack helicopter units.
