The Truth about the Democrat party, “A History lesson”.
May 5, 2012 at 7:43am
When I was 18 I like so many others signed up for the draft and registered to vote. I at the time took it as a sign that I was a man to society I had the chance to Vote and could be drafted into military service should my country need it. I was a patriotic young man I believed in my government and that the politicians were looking out for us. Oh the naivety of youth. In the last 20 years I have seen so much that has changed my out look on our system. When I first registered to vote I was asked are you a member of the Democrat party or the Republican Party. I thinking I was a sharp cookie and having listened to what the politicians had to say replied “I’m a Democrat” At the time I remember thinking the Democrats were for pro choice and hay a women’s body is no concern of mine and they were for helping minorities and those that were low income and I was defiantly low income. Bill Clinton was running his election campaign and hay he is a younger guy so why not. Again the Naivety of youth, you see I never really looking into what the democrat party was about and as most school teachers are democrats they sure as Hades don’t teach you the REAL history of the Democrat party. So I’m going to go over the highlights of one of the oldest political parties. All of this can be verified just do an internet search or go to your public library and read a book. Oh and for the record after Clinton I changed to a Constitutionalist I make mistakes but never the same one twice. Lets begin!
The Democrat party was formed in 1830 by Martin Van Buren to put support behind Andrew Jackson a known slave owner and racist from the South. At his height of slave ownership he had 150 slaves, and owned an estimated 300+ over his life time. In 1832 Jackson was elected as the president of the united states he was the FIRST Democrat president as we know the party to be called. Andrew Jackson’s history included brutality towards Native Americans hunting run away slaves and Dueling. In retro spec he wasn’t a bad president having been the only one to EVER pay off the national debt and calling for the abolishment of the Electoral College voting system. He was also the first president to invite the public to the white house for the inauguration. One could say pandering to the public opinion? This is the start of this party.
Now lets talk about Franklin Delanor Roosevelt FDR a Democrat that they all look up too. Here is a man that was defending America and was at the same time undermining it. FDR signed Presidential Executive Orders 9066 and 9102 these two orders led to the imprisonment of over 120,000 law abiding citizens of Japanese decent. Lets put this in simple terms. 120,000 AMERICAN CITIZENS were placed in concentration camps because of how they looked. There property was seized there homes destroyed and some lost there lives. When questioned about doing the same for the Germans and the Italians FDR had this to say “no collective evacuation of German and Italian aliens is contemplated at this time” and “I don’t care so much about the Italians, they are a lot of opera singers, but the Germans are different. They may be dangerous.” So he was not concerned with the White people that were Aliens to the country but he was worried about the legal Citizens who looked different. FDR went on to set back the Minority’s by appointing two known segregationist to the United States Supreme Court Jimmy Byrnes and Hugo Black.
Hugo Black a Democratic Senator from Alabama and active member of the KKK gained his fame by defending fellow KKK members under prosecution for racial murders. He is said to have told one Klan audience "I desire to impress upon you as representatives of the real Anglo-Saxon sentiment that must and will control the destinies of the stars and stripes, that I want your counsel." I know many people don’t speak the old English so let me translate this for you. “I want you to understand as White people we must control the destiny of America” in short “Whites should rule” Black supported FDR’s “New Deal” and was solid opponent of Civil Rights legislation. He was a key participant in FDR’s Court packing scandal. Though the Public and many in congress opposed Blacks nomination he still went on to the supreme court where he continued his racism most notably by authoring an opinion in favor of FDR’s Japanese’s internment in the infamous Korematsu ruling.
But this is all history right I mean these were long before our time… well then I will skip a few years ahead lets talk about Senator Robert Byrd. Here is a man that has been elected and a sitting Democrat longer than any other elected official. He served from 1953 to 2010, that’s 57 years of racism in the capital. He also was an Active Klan member even while in office. At one point while in office he wrote a letter to a Klan Imperial Wizard and had this to say "I am a former kleagle of the Ku Klux Klan in Raleigh County and the adjoining counties of the state. The Klan is needed today as never before and I am anxious to see its rebirth here in West Virginia. It is necessary that the order be promoted immediately and in every state of the Union" and followed with a request for assistance from them in "rebuilding the Klan in the realm" of West Virginia. Byrd led the filibuster of the Civil rights act of 1964. Filibusting to the bitter end when the minority leader a Republican named Everett Dirksen invoked cloture so the Civil Rights Act could pass. At the time Byrd was into a 14hr 13 minute filibuster.
How about Senator Hollings a Democrat from South Carolina. Here is a man that opposed lunch counter integration among other things. In 1961 he attended a meeting of Democrats for segregation. He is renowned for racial remarks made publicly even going so far as to create an international incident in Geneva with an African delegation. He is also the one that raised the confederate flag over the state capital of South Carolina in defiance to civil rights. This fact was never mentioned by the main stream media when the issue came up in front of George bush during his campaign. Bush had this to say on the subject “the flag is a state issue to be decided upon by South Carolina and not the national government” In short it was the States RIGHT to make that decision and the federal government should not try and assume authority where it had non.
Representative Dick Gephardt gave several speeches to a St. Louis area hate group during his early years as a representative the Metro South Citizens Council, a now defunct white supremacist organization; he has long avoided questions about his past affiliation with this group.
Andrew Cuomo: Cuomo was Bill Clinton's former Housing Secretary and a prominent Democrat political player in New York, was tape recorded during a campaign speech that voting for his rival for the New York Democrat gubernatorial nomination Carl McCall, who is black, would create a "racial contract" between Black and Hispanic Democrats "and that can't happen."
Lee Brown: Clinton's Drug czar actively engaged in a campaign to suppress Hispanic voters from turning out.
Mary Berry has this to say on Civil rights “Civil rights laws were not passed to protect the rights of white men and do not apply to them”
How about Jesse Jackson he was the featured prime time speaker at the 2000 Democrat Convention. Jackson has a history of using anti-Semitic slurs and derogatorily calling New York City “Hymietown” he has made a name for him self by riding the coat tails of M.L.K even back then he was a grand stander showing up at an interview the day after M.L.K was assassinated wearing the same shirt from the day before that had M.L.K’s blood stains on it. Many of M.L.K’s supporters voiced outrage at this act. Jesse Jackson has a well marked history of showing up after an incident and fanning the flames of hate and rhetoric even when non exist.
Another is Al Sharpton here is a man that takes Racism to the next level On November 28, 1987, Tawana Brawley, a 15-year-old African-American girl, was found smeared with feces, lying in a garbage bag, her clothing torn and burned and with various slurs and epithets written on her body in charcoal. Brawley claimed she had been assaulted and raped by six white men, some of them police officers, in the town of Wappinger, New York. Attorneys Alton H. Maddox and C. Vernon Mason joined Sharpton in support of Brawley. A grand jury was convened; after seven months of examining police and medical records, the jury determined that Brawley had fabricated her story. Sharpton, Maddox, and Mason accused the Dutchess County prosecutor, Steven Pagones, of racism and of being one of the perpetrators of the alleged abduction and rape. The three were successfully sued for slander and ordered to pay $345,000 in damages, the jury finding Sharpton liable for making seven defamatory statements about Pagones, Maddox for two, and Mason for one. Sharpton refused to pay his share of the damages. In flaming the mob during the 1991 Crown Heights race riot, where a mob shouting anti-semetic slurs and murdered an innocent Jewish man. Sharpton also incited a 1995 protest of a Jewish owned store in Harlem where protesters used several anti-semetic slurs. During the protests, a Sharpton lieutenant called the store's owner a "bloodsucker" and declared an intent to "loot the Jews." A member of the protest mob later set fire to the store, resulting in the death of seven. When asked about this in a recent interview he refused to take responsibility for his own words and actions. On May 9, 2008, the Associated Press reported that Sharpton and his businesses owed almost $1.5 million in unpaid taxes and penalties. Sharpton owed $931,000 in federal income tax and $366,000 to New York, and his for-profit company, Rev. Al Communications, owed another $176,000 to the stateThese are just a few of the highlights from his long career in politics and activism.
The media which has a democrat slant has painted the Democratic Party as the Anti racism party while ignoring the fact that the Republicans have a true history of supporting the minorities. During the Civil Rights movement it was the 80% Republicans that got the Civil Rights Act passed not the 40% of the Democrats that opposed it. The voting Rights Act of 1965, which was supported by 82% of House Republicans and 94% of Senate Republicans, again republicans got these passed not the democrats. Republicans are against gun control which was started by the democrats as a way to keep guns out of the hands of African Americans after the civil war. Looking at the current issues with the call for gun control it is a wonder that ALL African Americans don’t join the NRA and purchase a fire arm instead of helping to disarm them selves. How long will the minority's allow the Democrats to paint them as victims before they learn to stand up for them selves.
The Democrat party has rewritten there own history blatantly lying or covering up the truth. The fact that they choose Barack Obama as there nomination is in no small part their attempt to prove their no longer racist. I how ever think they are, they have just swung to the other side of racism. They chant that there for the minorities yet they pass laws that will in time force the minorities and low income to be 100% reliant on government hand outs. The current sitting president has made several attempts to stoke the race war from making public comments on the Travyon / Zimmerman incident to calling a police officer who arrested a black professor stupid. He and his ilk have hailed him as the great joiner yet he has gone out of his way to drive a wedge between the races. His own mentors are known racists the Rev Wright being one of them. All of this is done to further his reelection campaign and push his socialist agenda.
The Republicans have been painted as the villains the racist. They are the ones that are called radicals now. The “Conservative” movement the left wing smear campaigns them through the media getting a free pass to do as they please, but that is a conversation for another time.
I will close this with a thought for you. Even if you choose to not believe what I have said here “and I hope that if you don’t you at least look some of it up” it does not change the fact that democrats have a history of violent and racist tendencies, from both sides of the spectrum. I am not a Republican supporter I simply have not gotten around to writing an article on there idiocies. I support all Men and Women and there Constitutional rights to be free in there person and live how they wish to live so long as they are not harming anyone else. That being said upon Election Day I hope that you all look long and hard at the history of not just the person but the politics they come from and represent. Learn from History so you do not have to repeat it. Make an informed opinion based on fact not on hearsay or emotion. Strip away all rhetoric, race, and religion let there be only truth in your decision and above all else be willing to change how you think if the facts support it. Refusal to except a truth simply because you do not like it is an act of a small coward.

I read it all so that you could feel vindicated for spending so much time. I didn't have to because I knew all this already. I lived through much of it. That's why I can assure everyone that it is true

I never said the ideology of racism- there is racism on both sides of the aisle, no doubt, but when you look at the make up of both parties, there are stark racial differences, approaches, outcomes, etc etc etc....... what prompted this shift were the "Southern Dixie-crats" who were against progressiveness when it came to Civil Rights and that cannot be debated as false....what you present are microscopic views without looking at he broad picture. I am not trying to change your mind, but I am going to present the facts as I have researched many a time with the same conclusions. do some reading dude....and read opposing views on this ...I forgot to add... when you say you are "aware" of the research. but it is false...does this mean you researched and came to this conclusion, you listened to videos, you sat in lectures with opposing views? what exactly ....could you post your credible links to things we can read or feel so to speak? Or is his your opinion that the research and subsequent conclusions are false? I am always open to some opposing research on the subject to broaden my horizons.

LTC (Join to see) - You are correct. It has been debated but note particular parts of this article how it described specifically that MLK Jr. and Southern Blacks fought against Southern Democrats as Southern Republicans. Also note the shift of Blacks to the Democratic Party in the 1930s under FDR and how each party's shift in dynamics in the late 1800s as Southern Democrat factions assumed control over state governments and slowly became the new Southern GOP. Regardless of MLK's affiliation, he clearly supported Democratic and Republican leaders that supported his Civil Rights agenda; from JFK to Nixon. King was not defined by his party affiliation but by his own principles. Something we should be doing today. SGT (Join to see)

Again, we are ignoring certain facts in favor of others. No one has suggested that the politicians changed sides. It was the voters who changed sides. Those in the South stopped voting for the Democrats and started voting for the Republicans. One only has to look at the facts that the Republican Party, the Party of Lincoln, used to be the Progressive party. Now they are the Conservative Party. The Democrats, at the time of Lincoln up until the '60s, were the Conservative Party. Now they are the Liberal/Progressive Party. Just those two facts alone indicate the polar shift that happened in American Politics over the last 50 years. And yes, it started with the passage of the Civil Rights legislation in the '60s.
