Have an old history book at home that shows the devastation caused by that quake.

A sad share but a great deal was learned.

I was in the 1989 earthquake in San Francisco. My building was quarantined. I counseled people; after the Loma Prieta earthquake.

I saw that live on TV because I was watching the World Series. Terrible sight to see. SPC Margaret Higgins

SGT (Join to see) - My studio apartment's walls were all cracked. I stood in a door jam; as the earthquake was happening. I was Scared, Dave.

I understand what you mean. My brother was at home in the Berkeley Hills. It was hours before he would go back inside. As [~390226 sgt david reynolds] mentioned, I was watching the World Series pre-game show.
The next day a co-worker related how he had talked to a fellow co-worker, based in the Bay Area, who lived in the San Jose area, watched half the water get sloshed out his pool.
Very Scary Indeed.

PO2 Peter Klein - Indeed, Peter. The Waldorf bridge, I believe it was, in San Francisco, broke apart; and, cars were left hanging. At least one car and one man were left hanging for hours and hours. I believe that the man survived.
