I'm going to go with no one has read through the transcript yet...I've gotten maybe halfway through. Yet to see that he actually violated the criminal statute (hence why Hur came to the conclusion he did of no criminal charges recommended).
What I can see is, like 99.9% of the top levels of government, negligence with handling classified. Let's be realistic - he and every other President has likely mishandled classified along with probably any Cabinet member, Congressmembers, etc. With what I've seen at just the levels I've been at as a security manager, you'd be amazed out how little people understand or care about classification authority. Also what bothers me is the fact that people who sit in the office of the President, who while they are in that office are THE classification authority, have no understanding of classfication levels. That bothers me that they don't know the difference between TS, S, Confidential, SAP, SCI etc. If you're the classification authority, at least do basic security training. Derivative classification training. At the very least.
I'm going to keep working my way through the transcript but from what I've seen and saw of the hearing, it's not doing anything to favor the GOP. In fact, from what I've read Biden doesn't have "memory lapses" his answers sound like what anyone would say when interviewed on something from 12-16 years ago. I guarantee people on here can't remember exact details from everything they did a year ago, a month ago.
If Biden did share actual classified (because in the transcript there are times Biden mentions that there were things not actually classified that people marked 'sensitive' or other things) and the ghostwriter knew it was classified, he should have reported it. But when most people don't know how to spot actual classified material (because guarantee any notes Biden shared didn't have classification markings) then they might just delete it. Not knowing what it is. I watched this and it just...yeah. One snippet of Gym Jordan at that hearing...c'mon.
