The one weapon I see here I have used is the Springfield 03, and it's very accurate and easy to use. Our American Legion post actually has Springfield 03s in out armory and I've taught others to use them both shooting and even in a formation taught the manual of arms. Into even the Vietnam War the Springfield 03 was mounted with a scope and used as a sniper rifle. In a later Post WWII Korea period I had first learned the Manual of arms on an M1 Garand which actually was the first Military firearm I learned to use.
I may ad I've actually taken a trip to the Springfield Armory in Springfield, Massachusetts where the Springfield 03 was made as well as many other fine Military firearms,. The armory is a National Historic place and open for visitors

With the exception of about 150 cadets, we issued '03s to all of our "infantry" cadets at VFMA&C when I was a Tac there in the late '90s.

MAJ Dale E. Wilson, Ph.D. - We were all issued the M1 Garand as Cadets at Bordentown Military Institute, in Bordentown, NJ. The entire program there was Infantry. In earlier years it was the Springfield 03 when that was the basic Army issue weapon. At a later stage but only for the honor drill team the " Landon Rifles " who did start using the Springfield 03 just for their own practice and exhibition drills. It was the early to mid 60s I was a Cadet there however. In the picture here I'm the Cadet at eyes right during a parade in review on the campus and with an M1 Garand on My right shoulder.

My father-in-law mentioned that the Army unit he was with at Guadalcanal were issued M1 Garands while the much more numerous Marines there still had the old Springfield. They both used the same caliber for rounds. More than one Army soldier woke up to find their M1 had been replaced by a Marine's old Springfield.

I deer hunt with a 1903A3 my dad bought from gov. Surplus in the 60’s that was modified into a sniper rifle. It’s a Rock Island Arsenal model and she’s fro 1918. I love this rifle
