The article is ridiculous drivel... it's not about waging a war against the dead or erasing history, its about deciding who should be honored and who should not be honored (at taxpayer expense) given their history. Someone famous for this nations struggle for independence? Yes. Someone famous for fighting against this nation to preserve the institution of slavery? Probably not...

This great nation has coddled racists and rebels for over a 150 years, its time we stopped celebrating their hero's. If they want a statue of General Lee or Adolph Hitler, let them put it up on their own land at their own expense.

Sgt Wayne Wood - The pairing of the two leaders is hardly original, the Klan and Nazis have been working together for decades. They are both hero's to the "White Power" crowd, because they both fought for societies where whites were considered superior to people of other colors.

I agree with the author that we are seeing a virtue signalling elevated to its ultimate insanity. To the people who advocate removing statues I would ask: What happens in 10 years when a new group of virtue signaling sycophants decides that we need to remove the Martin Luther King statues because (as a Baptist Minister) he was strongly opposed to homosexuality?
