Thank you my friend MAJ Dale E. Wilson, Ph.D. for posting a snippet from the U.S. Constitution which is very appropriate for these strange times.
The time honored precedent of a nomination and vote on a replacement to fill a seat of the Supreme Court when the Senate majority is the same party as the President will hopefully be executed and the nominee confirmed in October 2020.

They did. Obama nominated his candidate but did not control the Senate. McConnell exercised his constitutional authority to delay a vote. Harry Reid had earlier gotten rid of the minority patty's leverage by kiboshing the filibuster for judicial appointments to the federal bench. So it was the Dems' own fault that Obama's nominee failed to get an up-or-down vote.
