When I was in alexandria louisiana awaiting shipment to Iraq, Is a senior couple invited me and a SGT. to dinner. I was a lieutenant then. At dinner , this couple told me that when they were in Uruguay in the 1960s , they knew a whole colony of nazis teaching there young to be like nazis is still doing the hitler salute.

LTC (Join to see) Yes, it's understandable given all the various German plantations of one type or another established in the 20s and 30s in all of South America. Those escaping Germany after the war knew where the sympathizers would be and headed that way.

LTC (Join to see) I recall seeing a documentary several years back that talked about several colonies like that in SA. If I remember right, one even had a huge factory where the theory was that they planned to produce weapons for a Fourth Reich.
