I've been through Schiphol, and yes, it's nice. Lots of places to relax, drink a beer, have some good food and flooded with WiFi hotspots. I think the civilian terminal at Rhein-Main is outstanding. Also, once you get past customs and baggage claim, Sheremetyevo in Moscow is not bad. Who knew that Russia has great beer? But a layover in luxury is still a layover.
