The remains of a Tennessee soldier who was killed during World War II have been identified.
Marine Corps Reserve Cpl. William R. Ragsdale of Nashville was a member of Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, which was part of the invasion force of the island of Saipan.

Thank you my friend PO1 William "Chip" Nagel that the remains of WWII Marine Corps Reserve Cpl. William R. Ragsdale from Nashville, Tennessee were idenified by his DNA compared to relatives I expect.
Rest in peace William R. Ragsdale and I hope this brings closure to his family.
He was assigned to Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, which was part of the invasion force of the island of Saipan.
