Would be nice if the army could go to an open distro. Make it a closed spin, but immigine the $$& saved on volume licenses.

I agree that the services would save money by switching to Linux. I have to wonder if the retraining costs (tech support and the like) would outweigh the benefits. I use and prefer Linux Mint with the Cinnamon DE myself.

Never used Mate Mint but heard it's lighter on resources, similar to XFCE vs. KDE.
