Taiwan’s President Quits as Party Chief After Stinging Losses in Local Races

Firstly Taiwan is a Democracy and Mainland China isn't and the bully tactics from the mainland has been constant. There is a big difference in the level of freedom between the two. Can they ever reunite,? I don't know but if I were a citizen of Taiwan I'd sure be concerned. This seems like a major change in stance from the population of Taiwan and I'm sort of surprised.
