I question the SPLC's methodology of identifying a group as a hate group. One of the groups identified in my area has
__no police complaints filed against them
__has a statement of no hate speech in their charter, and no one can produce a photo of one of their signs denigrating alternate sexual or gender lifestyles
__has the two agenda items
1) stopping discussion of homosexual and heterosexual sexual practices outside of clinical reproductive education WITHIN THE PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM. Their fall back position is allowing parent to opt out of health classes when sexual practices are discussed in other than clinical terms.
2) leaving the assessment of the morality of homosexuality and transgender lifestyles to parents, not teachers
__has numerous police reports where other organized groups in the area have staged counter protests and assaulted the members of the group.
__none of the groups that have perpetrated violence in counter protests are listed as hate groups.

Before someone accuses me of LGBTQ bias, I have consistently posted in favor LGBTQ rights. The farthest I have strayed from that position is to ask people to conduct their discussions in respectful manners and in good faith.

Interesting summary and factually presented. Good arguments. I don't think either view should be forced on parents. They have to decide how to raise their children, but fear of homosexual or transgender issues is embedded in children and that confuses them. I have found that children choose their own path, regardless of the fear of parents. So, they don't qualify as a domestic terror group.

I take everything they say with a grain of salt. Or a little more.

Honestly, it's time for some groups or organizations to reveal who they are... and if the truth is uncomfortable... get over it.
