My take; All that .223 ammo that is so "readily" available now is going to start diminishing over the next 10-15 years. If you're one of those folks that wants a long gun that fires military ammo, it's time to start looking at .277Fury/6.8 platforms. What hasn't changed in many, many years is the .308/7.62. I wonder if that's because it's the best all around caliber for anything you want to do bigger than a coyote.

Im not a fan of the loss of rounds troops will carry but I do like the platform and the round it fires.

1SG Russell Scott - I did see front line combat units with more range time and ammo allotments will be the first to be issued these weapons. I agree though with a majority of support units it would be a waste.
