"enables minors to seek an abortion even without parental consent if a judge determines that abortion is in her “best interests.” "
There is a key. If the family has good communications, then probably a court would not have to be involved. But in far too many instances the family does not.
My cousin was molested by an uncle. Her mother refused to believe it so it did not stop. She got pregnant. Her mother kicked her out. She died coming back from Mexico after getting a back ally abortion. Now, this was 1957 and things were different then, but not a lot.
There are reasons a young woman may need to take such drastic steps as an abortion. And, there may be reasons she cannot tell her family.

Aww are you mad that if you lived in Indiana you can't make your daughter have a pregnancy she doesn't want? So sad.

If you don't live in Indiana and you have a good relationship with any daughters, this shouldn't be an issue for you.

My minor children can't go the dentist or the family pediatrician, drive a car, or go on a school field trip without my approval and notification. But now they could receive an abortion?

Seems the government has drifted awfully deep into the 'parental rights' lane.

Yes, exactly. We need parents' groups to fight back.

If you have a positive relationship with your child and you don't live in Indiana, you shouldn't have to worry about them wanting to secretly get an abortion nor will this affect you.
