Scott Air Force Base commander relieved of command

Unfortunate situation for all involved. Speculation as to the reason for the early relief from command won't help anybody. Wing Commander at Scott is a difficult job. The place is packed with General/Flag Officers from all Services many of whom live on Base. If a Colonel does a good job of commanding the 375th Wing with a small flying mission, but a large logistical support mission for a VIP-filled office park, he or she is almost always promoted to Brig Gen. Some of the Headquarters at Scott include: Air Mobility Command, Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (Army), United States Transportation Command, Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization, Defense Information Systems Agency--CONUS, Air Force Network Integration Center, 18th Air Force, 932 Airlift Wing (AFRES), 126th Air Refueling Wing (ANG-IL).
