As a father of young school aged children and husband of a woman who works at an elementary school, I can say absolutely that students need to be back in school. Especially younger children. Virtual learning isn't as effective in younger students. They need social interactions with others. They need to be out of the house.

At the same time, I will say that returning children to school must be done after non-political, science based research show it is the right time. The problem in our country is that nothing serious can be done without politics being involved. I have said and will continue to say that until herd immunity is reached in large enough number or there is a viable vaccine, covid will remain a problem. This however, is putting kids in the middle of a politic conflict much like if not more than during gun debates
